Hello, my name is Diana Garcia; I am asking for help unloading the financial burden I carry to keep the daily bills afloat while I tend to and remain by my daughter's side during her journey on the road to her bone marrow transplant. Having your child endure what my Camila has in her eight short years has been difficult, but the most challenging part has now begun as she has been admitted into Texas Children's BMT unit as of 03/22. She has already started chemotherapy and is expected to have her transplant on April 1st. With the Grace of the Lord that all goes well, we are expected to be able to return home near July, and from there, she will continue her 9-month journey to recovery quarantined homebound. Being a single mom to Camila and her 2 sisters as well as leading provider to our household of 7 weighs heavy during these times as I will have to take time off work and the bills do not stop. God has always blessed us, and the living proof is Camila being here today putting up a fight. She is a warrior has been all her life despite over one hundred blood transfusions and losing her spleen; with her pancreas and liver severely compromised from the iron overload, she is here with us. Camila is a true angel who is severely developmentally delayed and nonverbal autistic. God has sent me an angel to take care of and who motivates me everyday to do my best. I am not ashamed to say I need help; if possible, anything will help these next months to keep the home running and allow me to take the time I need to be with my daughter. Camila Alexandra was born with a hereditary blood disorder and has been needing blood transfusions since she was still in my belly. She has been getting transfusions every 3 weeks since being born. the iron overload form the transfusions have caused damage to the pancreas and her liver. We were blessed to have found a donor who is a perfect match for bone marrow transplant. She is getting intense chemo before the transplant itself. Camila is an angel who love Mickey Mouse. Although she is non verbal she has always found a way to show us that Mickey Mouse is her happiness. She has been blessed to be part of the Make a Wish foundation but due to COVID her wish was not able to be granted yet. With Gods grace onece she is fully recovered she would be able to have her wish fulfilled.
