Please Help Uchechi as She Battles Breast Cancer

Hello Everyone. My name is Nze Jonas Obodoefuna. I am the Chairman of the Igbo Community Association in the Midlands (ICAM) UK.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. One of our longstanding members, Miss Uchechi Ugwuzor, has been going through a tough time of late. Uchechi is a lively fun loving lady who was working full time, lives in her apartment with her flat mate, and enjoys the same things we all enjoy - socialising with friends, going to Church, going to the movies and of course being part of the strong Igbo Community in Birmingham.

Recently, however, Uchechi received the devastating news that she has stage 4 breast cancer.

Thus things have become quite challenging of late. Due to her chemotherapy sessions, she has now had to cut down to a part-time role which unfortunately has not been enough to meet her day to day financial needs.

The hardest thing is, Uchechi is going through this completely away from her family in Nigeria who are able to provide her with only little support.

We at ICAM are doing our best to support Uchechi who is not eligible to many of the grants available to those in this position with full UK citizenship or residency.

I am therefore appealing to you to help in any way you can to get to our £5,000.00 goal. This would help with her expenses over the next 6 months, which is the remainder of her chemotherapy course as well as her VISA reapplication. 

Having cancer at any age is tough, but having stage 4 breast cancer during the prime of your life as a woman and being all alone in the UK away from home is particularly challenging.
