Please help Typhon Victims & our Village Rebuild
Donation protected
Greetings!
My name is Nieves “Nini” Cerio- Hardy from Mississauga ON. I am fundraising for the people in my village back in the Philippines which was badly hit by the horrific typhoon Odette on December 16th 2021, specifically in the Visayas region.
The damage of Typhoon Odette left our immediate families, relatives, neighbours and the entire village community of San Francisco, Southern Leyte (Municipal Towns, barangays and the entire island itself) without running water, electricity and food.
Every house in SAN FRANCISCO and the rest of the PANAON ISLAND was badly damaged or destroyed, especially hit were the houses near the coastal area. Houses were left without a roof, debris scattered around and our Church structure was left standing without a roof.
I grew up on the Island where typhoons and hurricanes are normal for us, but this typhoon ravaged through most of the Southern part of the Philippines (Visayas region). The previous super typhoon that hit in in northern part of the Visayas region took months to get everything back to near normal and I could only imagine for this one it will be much longer.
Our Village are in desperate need of immediate assistance in recovering and rebuilding from Typhoon Odette with another storm anticipated to hit this week.
On behalf of my community in San Francisco, I am asking for your generosity to help us raise funds to donate to the victims in San Francisco to supply food, water and the materials to rebuild their houses. Any amount no matter how small is appreciated.
Panaon Island and the entire Visayas in our Country Philippines are suffering with minimal media coverage about this devastating tragedy that has left thousands homeless, without food and the basic necessities for life.
Once funds are raised, they will go directly to a group of trustees who represent our immediate contacts in Southern Leyte (San Francisco, Southern Leyte, Typhoon Odette Updates Team). These people have worked tirelessly to help the situation in spite of the fact that they are also victims of this horrific Typhoon. They will ensure the money will go directly to purchase and distribute goods to the people affected in my hometown.
Thank you sincerely,
Nieves
