Please help Tonka the Brave Frenchie Fight!
Hello everyone! My name is Tonka and it's tough having to ask for help, but here my human mom and dad are, taking the leap... They could really use your support to help me have live saving surgery to fix my severe cleft palate.
I was born on the 4th of March 2021 and my human parents were advised by the vet that I needed to be put down due to my cleftie status, but one look at me and they fell in love and they decided to fight for me... Even though I've had lots of bumps in the road - I'm extremely tiny, struggle to put on weight and just recently, had to have surgery to put a feeding tube in my stomach - I am a fighter! I love playtime, kisses from my human mom and dad, and being a burrito baby (that's me, all wrapped up in a blanky like a burrito!)
My human parents had to keep me away from my brothers and sister and tube feed me every 2 hours for the first few weeks and boy, are they tired! Unfortunately, when I was 6 weeks old, I had to be rushed to the emergency vet as I was throwing up all the food they were giving me and they were told to feed me every hour on the hour...
I had another emergency vet visit a few days later as my little throat was inflamed and I couldn't handle the constant in and out of the tube feeding anymore, so the vet had to put a tube in my stomach, through my nose and glued it to my face - I didn't like that at all, but I finally started picking up weight, which made my human parents so happy!
Being the fighter that I am, I ripped the pipe out a few days later and another emergency vet visit was on the cards... This time the vet stapled the pipe into my face, I heard my human mom crying, because she could see and hear how much it hurt me, but I settled in the end and starting picking up even more weight! Here's where my human parents and I wish the story ended, as it would be 8 weeks until I could get my cleft palate surgery, but such is life...
My tube ended up getting clogged and despite numerous chats with the vet, my human parents couldn't resolve the issue and the vet decided that the best course of action would be a permanent tube that they surgically placed into my stomach. I barely survived and my human parents were stressed and heartbroken, but I pulled through in the end, once again I am Tonka the Brave Frenchie!
I finally made it home after 3 days at the vet and after losing a lot of weight again, now the refeeding starts and my human parents have a big job on the hour, every hour, but we're working together to make sure I survive and thrive! We cannot wait for my weight to increase, so I can have the surgery I need to become a normal, healthy dog and live my best life!
My human parents are asking for help to cover the vet bills and the surgeries - any help, no matter how small, would be amazing and help me get the help I need. Please help me get this surgery so I can live a normal life and just be a dog in the loving home I was born into.
If you would like to donate to the vet directly, please let us know and my human mom will send you the details.

My human mom created socials for me - she totally sucks at this, but she loves me so much, she is trying her absolute best...
