Please help Toni in her fight against cancer

I am creating this Go Fund me to help ToniGaye McLean in her fight against breast cancer. Toni is a fellow Communications Officer in our 911 dispatch center.

As a 911 dispatcher, Toni is often the calm voice many people hear when they call for help. Today Toni is the one needing help and it is OUR chance to give back.

For the past 2 years, Toni has been told by her local doctors that she is too young to worry and had her symptomatic concerns dismissed. Unfortunately she recently discovered her fears were correct and she had cancer. While discussing this with her local doctor she was again dismissed and told she was too young to worry about treatment.

Luckily Toni was able to get into the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville where she will be receiving the best care. While this is encouraging, Toni will need to travel 3 hours 1 way for many treatments. This in itself will be quite an expense for her.

Toni is a single mother of a young daughter and will be out of work for an extended period of time. During this time she will need financial assistance not only for travel and treatment but also for her time off. Many at our department would love to donate our time to her however per our city policy we are only able to donate our time if she has been out of work without pay for 4 weeks. As we all know any amount of time without income can be a hardship let alone 4 weeks and then adding the expense of battling a deadly disease.

I am asking for us all to come together and support one of our own. Any amount can help and every little bit will add up. Thank you for helping one of our own, Kari
