my parents flew out to Turkey on the 30th of April as they usually do at this time of year to celebrate dads birthday on 4th of May.

my dad is Royston Pearce but is affectionately known as Alec !

He had an upset tummy on the 29th of April and was nauseous but he deemed himself fit to fly but said he didn’t feel 100% however was happy to go and said he would be taking it easy and recovering in the sun.

on arrival he started being sick in the hotel room where he remained until I managed to book them flights home on Saturday night..

whilst boarding the flight he collapsed into a diabetic coma and was offboarded from the plane and taken to Anatolia hospital and is currently in ICU.

They initially treated him for his bloodwork with him being diabetic but it was revealed that he had a kidney infection and a double lung infection.. (silent pneumonia)

I flew out myself on Sunday to support my mam as the language barrier and her simply being on her own was a nightmare..

our dad is in a terrible state and I couldn’t bring myself to upload pictures of him as he is at the minute

now the problem has emerged that when they’ve booked the package holiday they did NOT take out additional insurance cover.

this has left us as a family in a mess, we are currently on day 3 and his current hospital bill is currently standing at €10,000

we as a family have all clubbed together to try and raise as much as we can, however we’ve been told today he requires a minimum of another 5 nights in ICU minimum

we can all borrow but none of us are fortunate enough to cover such a large sum at the end of the week..

never in a million years did I think I would ever have to do anything like this..
