Hello Everybody, HARP - Hunter’s Animal rescue Programme is an non-profit organisation based in Ortaköy Seydıkemer Fethiye, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming the street dogs of Türkiye and has been for the past 8 years. HARP at current is home to over 100 street dogs and cats, rescued from unimaginable circumstances. HARP travel all over the country on rescue missions to save these souls to give them a chance at life & show them love kindness. We rehome dogs and cats all over the world. Our aim is to save as many as we can, however we need help with funding. In May 2024 the Turkish government passed a law to Kill over 4 million street animals & over the last couple of months in Türkiye, the street animals have been subject to inhumane torture & cruelty, such as poisoning, beheadings, abuse, starvation. Dogs are being dragged off the streets and taken to kill shelters by the council & they are being tortured to death by local people who are taking this new law into their own hands.
At the moment there is only 1 person at HARP day and Night and that person is Hakan Sacakli, HARP founder. He is looking after over 100 dogs and cats himself, whilst still going out on rescues, with no volunteers, no paid staff, just his driver, therefore at the moment rescues are getting harder, as HARP is reaching capacity. In order for us to save more dogs we need to build new rooms / kennels, however to do this we need the funds. In order for us to save more dogs we need the funds, as street animals can not come to the rescue without a full health check totalling £650 per dog / cat. This includes blood tests, titre tests, vaccinations, neutering, microchip, final disease test, flea & worming. These tests are absolutely essential, as we can not risk passing on anything to our other dogs. Which is why rescuing isn’t easy, because at the moment all our donations go on our food bill which is currently 200,000tl a month. For us this is heartbreaking, we want to expand our rescue, enhance our rescue & save as many lives as possible. We do not want to say no to saving any life. Which is why I am reaching out to you you, the kind hearted people in this world to please help us save lives. Every little helps, whether that be £1, £3, £5, your contribution will help us to save lives. We can not sit back and let animals be killed for just existing. Yes “Boycott Türkiye” but please also support the rescues, please help the street dogs.
Thank you so much for reading xx
