Please Help to save Coras Life!

Hello all, for those of you that might not know me, my name is Charlie and I have 2 dogs that we rescued, Cora and lucky. Cora is the white and brown Australian cattle dog/ German Shepard mix pictured and is only 4 years old. we rescued her as a puppy through CCPAL in Texas. She has always been very anxious but also very sweet, loyal and intelligent

We have been bringing Cora to the veterinarian and hospital for the past couple of weeks due to her limping and not actively using one of her legs. They couldn’t find anything wrong with her and couldn’t find a source of pain on her leg or foot. They advised to monitor it for the next two weeks and bring her in if it gets worse. About a week later, just before we went to bed i noticed a very small discolouration of her skin by one of her paws. The next morning we didn’t see anything really different. By the time we got home from work it had expanded to most of one side of her toe. I Immediately brought her to the hospital and we spent all night there. The doctors finally told us that she had Necrotic tissue affecting her paw that was decomposing at an alarming rate. The went to immediately start a debridement technique to remove all the dead tissue. They took a culture to find what might be causing the necrotic tissue. They gave us medication and told us to get the bandages changed every couple of days. Ashley, my Fiancé took her today to get the bandages changed and we were told that It has only gotten worse and the doctor recommends that Cora should have her leg amputated. He recommends a second opinion within the next five days, due to the severity of the issue and that there is already bone exposed, waiting longer could allow this to reach her bone and get into her bloodstream and essentially take her life.

everything up to this point has been expensive and as much as I hate to admit it, we are really struggling with it. And now we have been quoted between $3,000-$10,000+ to get the surgery. Honestly I’m lost, We have no way of coming up with that much in that short amount of time. I am not usually the type of person to ask for financial help, I’m usually too prideful and really try to stay self sufficient but i have no other option at this point. I Need help or I may lose one of my best friends. If you can help out at all it would mean the world to us.

I can provide receipts and everything as the process goes along as proof. Anyone who does help out, We want you to know that we really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
