Please help to save Athena's knees & with surgery costs

Hi everyone, my name is Mechelle and my little tabby cat is Athena. She is 4-1/2 years old and facing two surgeries ~ one on each knee. She is a talkative little diva, sassy, full of life, has a love for family members and loves to play with her older brother Nox. I adopted her in 2020 and she was a tiny little thing that hadn't been fostered correctly as she doens't like being held or picked up. She has however, over the four years i've had her, became my little side kick and sleeps between my monitors on my desk daily while working and is always within arms reach of me at all times.

We just found out that she has a torn ACL on her right leg and her medial luxating patella (kneecap) is also acting up. This will require a surgery (5.12.25) to fix this at a cost of $5,100 with a recovery time of 8-12 weeks. Sadly after that when she is fully healed, she will have to have a second surgery on her left leg for the medial luxating patella (kneecap) (Almost another $5,000). There is no thought about not doing this surgery to help her live a long and productive life. She is my sidekick for life and it's going to kill me to see her go thru two surgerys like this.

The way the vet described this procedure is: Athena will have her anterior cruciate ligament fixed by tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). Her right rear leg will have a plate and screws in the leg that will remain after healing unless they cause issue in the future. Her medial luxating patella on that knee will also be corrected.

Again, after this first surgery and Athena is fully healed, she will have the luxating patella surgery on her left leg.

The overall total for all this: between the two surgeries, follow up visits, and everything else, is going to be around $12,000. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
