A Helper Needs a Bit More of Our Help.

Hi! My name is Jim Schultz. My wife, Sheila, and I are starting this fundraiser for someone that we value deeply.

We are reaching out today with a plea for help on behalf of someone who has dedicated her life to helping others – a dedicated healthcare provider whose journey has taken an unexpected turn, leaving her in a challenging and painful situation.

Dr. Rosanne Berdanis-Dukart, a passionate healthcare professional with over 24 years of service, has been facing a relentless battle against chronic pain that has affected every aspect of her life. Despite her unwavering commitment to providing excellent care to her community, a severe foot condition has led to ongoing pain, multiple surgeries, and a heartbreaking struggle to maintain her chiropractic practice.

The chronic pain, which started in 2002 due to a Giant Cell Tumor in her left foot, has persisted through every imaginable procedure including surgeries, bone grafts, nerve blocks, steroid injections, pain management, physical therapy, joint specialists as well as a with a vascular surgeon to discuss amputation. Despite her incredible perseverance and dedication to her patients, the pain has become increasingly debilitating, leading to greater amounts of time unable to work.

Since 2018, the ratio has become more missed work than time in the office. This has caused her to finally reach the bottom, leaving her in financial ruin and at risk of losing her practice and home.

To add to the financial and physical challenges, on 11/22/23, Dr. Rosanne suffered a traumatic injury to her right knee which will require extensive surgery to repair and rebuild further complicating matters, by now making it almost impossible for her to continue to work. The timing of this injury couldn't have been worse, as she had just sought a consultation, a Hail Mary if you will with a specialist group up in Mesa, AZ.

This specialist, unlike others in the area, has given her a glimmer of optimism. They have offered by way of new diagnostics, procedures, therapies, and medications, a sense of hope that she could potentially alleviate her pain and restore her ability to work and enjoy a better quality of life.

We are turning to you, our community, for support to help Dr. Rosanne so she can receive the specialized care for her chronic debilitating left foot pain as well as the urgent and imminent surgery and rehabilitation for the new right knee injury. Medical needs for the treatments described above are substantial, and unfortunately, insurance coverage is limited. For these medical procedures to be effective, she has to take the necessary time to recover and heal and this is also where we are turning to family, friends, and our community for help.

This is what you can do to help:

Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards her medical, rehabilitation, and recovery expenses for her foot and knee. Any additional monies will be used to help pay living expenses and bills to keep food on the table, and electricity going and eliminate the upcoming challenge of avoiding being evicted from her home and office.

Share: If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this message within your network. Your outreach could connect us with others who may be in a position to help.

Dr. Rosanne has touched the lives of many through her compassionate care, and now she needs our support. Let's come together to ensure she receives the treatment necessary to regain her health and continue making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story, and for any support you can provide. Your kindness and generosity will make a world of difference.

With gratitude,
Jim and Sheila
