PLEASE HELP TO MAKE THE BEST MEMORIES FOR ELLA!

Can you remember the dreams and life goals that you had as an 18 year old??? All the wants and wishes you had? with all the time in the world to work towards them? Then you are very fortunate.

The purpose of this page is to promote awareness and to make us all stop and think for a moment....
You never expect bad things will happen to those close to you, especially so young, but how wrong can we be?

Ella is a gorgeous, bubbly, sociable 18-year-old who was born in Pilgrim hospital and has lived and grown up in Boston.
She lives at home with her mum and their cockapoo, Elsie. Ella has 2 older brothers that have now flown the nest but remain in close contact. She also has an extremely close relationship to her grandparents, who she has helped to care for on a daily basis.
Up until very recently, you may have seen her working in Tesco, always with a smile on her face.

Devastatingly, she has just been given the sudden diagnosis of having an inoperable and incurable brain tumour.

The type of tumour Ella has is called a diffuse midline glioma, previously known as a DIPG. This type of tumour is very aggressive (fast growing) and malignant (cancerous). It is located in the brain stem area of her brain, which is responsible for controlling many of the body's most vital functions, such as breathing, blood pressure and heart rate.

There’s no easy way to say this, but the prognosis isn’t good. They can only treat her to suppress her pain as there is no cure. She has been given a time scale of a year, maybe less, maybe a bit more. Everyone is completely broken and in disbelief.

Ella is being so strong for everyone. She is amazing.

She had her 1st radiotherapy therapy session today, at Nottingham City hospital. She has another 29 to go!!

Depending on how the treatment affects Ella, this will determine if she is able to travel to Nottingham every day or has to find accommodation nearer to the hospital. Either way, there is going to be a huge financial strain that Ella and her family were not prepared for.

Despite having to endure treatment and all that comes with it, knowing the outcome cannot be changed, Ella obviously would still like to have the opportunity to make as many memories as possible and make the dreams that she had for the future a reality. She had really hoped to travel the world but has since had to cancel the plans that she had worked so hard for, which makes this even more devastating for her. Alongside this, due to the rapid progression of this tumour, adaptions will also need to be made to her house in order for her to be able do things, that we all take for granted on a daily basis.

With the cost of living crisis at the present time, most of us are having to tighten our belts, but if there is any way you would be able to donate, no matter how little or how much, to help Ella and her family at this horrendous time, or if anyone has any suggestions or any offers of help, I can assure you it would most certainly be appreciated. Thank you
