Hello lovely people.

After several months of repairs and fixes, my beloved Nicole the Van - my home and mobile painting studio of six years has finally gone beyond the point of repair. I’ve spent a small fortune hoping that she would pull through but it’s not a feasible option anymore as it’s too big a job and my funds are depleted. The quotes I’m getting for all work needed is over £3000,and even after that there could be more work down the line.
It’s time to be realistic.

It was a real step into the unknown when I began the mission in 2014, to live on the road, to travel and paint oil paintings of the places visited. Over that time I’ve created almost a thousand paintings that document the journey, which by selling the work online has made me a modest living to fund the travel.

It was the realisation of a dream and the beginning of a career that has blossomed into a serious passion.

Alas, that time with Nicole the van appears to have come to an end, which makes me very sad indeed. Devastated in fact.

But I do have a fighting spirit, and I don’t want to give up.

So I’m reaching out for a bit of support.

I’ve never been great at asking for help as I like to try to work things out and make things happen, but having a broken van, no means to travel and paint, depleted funds to practically zero, I feel it’s an option to see what happens if I go down the crowdfunding route.

I have no expectations, I just know that I have nothing to lose.

What I have left of my van would not bring much funds in, and then I’d be pretty much homeless and without a reasonable way to continue painting the way I have been. So if I want to continue on this journey then I have to ask for that support.

If I raised some funds by the kindness of others, then my options would open up considerably from practically zero to everything.
My best option is to look at getting another more reliable van to carry me onward.
I’ve set a target that would open up my options considerably, but anything leading upto that is something I could put towards keeping going.

This is a dream and a passion that I don’t want to end.

So if you are feeling generous and would like to help out a nomadic artist by giving a pound or two, Please click on the donate button here.

Many thanks,

Rob the Painter.
