It is with great sadness that on October 2, 2019 we suffered the loss of 67 yr old, Cosmo DiNitto. He shared 27 years of his beautiful life with his wife, Priscilla. He was also the father of 3 children and 3 grandchildren. In December of 2018 Cosmo injured his back and went to a rehab to recover and he was on the fast track to a full recovery. In April of 2019 he suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. After countless tests, scans and bloodwork it was discovered that he had a heart valve infection which a piece of that broke off and traveled to his brain causing multiple strokes and 2 brain aneurysms. Surgery was needed. His 4 hour brain surgery was a success, however the issue that caused all this was still there (infected heart valve). The doctors could not operate on him until he gained some strength and that he did. Just a few short weeks at the hospital he was well enough to start physical therapy. Progress from therapy was being made. He was gaining strength to hopefully have his heart valve fixed. Upon completing physical therapy he was transferred to another facility to continue therapy. He was only 2 days at the new place when he developed a fever and was sent back to the hospital..... the infection was back. After three months of trying to get his infection under control, his body was slowly giving out. The doctors were no longer optimist about the heart valve surgery, he would never make it through. He fought every day to try to get better but his tired body could take no more. The machines were stopped, the comfort medicine started and he slowly slipped away, in pain no more. God gained an angel that day and we lost a piece of our heart.
We are asking for help to give him the proper services he so desperately deserves. No amount is too small, every little bit helps.
Thank you all, and God Bless,
The DiNitto family
