Hi everyone, my names natalie and thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I’m fundraising for my beautiful Labrador puppy, Sonny, who urgently needs elbow dysplasia surgery and a second hip replacement. The remaining treatment costs total £9,000.
Sonny Has Already Had His First Hip Replacement
Yesterday, Sonny underwent his first hip replacement. This surgery was thankfully fully covered by my insurance, and we’re incredibly grateful for that.
However, during the procedure and follow-up consultations, the orthopedic surgeon confirmed something devastating:
➡️ Sonny’s other hip also needs replacing, and
➡️ Both of his elbows require corrective surgery due to severe dysplasia.
The surgeon was very clear — the elbow surgery needs to be done within the next 4 weeks, and his left hip in 8 weeks or the damage will become untreatable. If that happens, Sonny would face a lifetime of pain, restricted mobility, and potentially early arthritis so severe that amputation or permanent disability could become the only option.
Who Sonny Is
Sonny is only a young pup — loving, goofy, gentle, and full of the sweetest, happiest energy despite everything he’s going through. He brings a smile to absolutely everyone who meets him. He deserves the chance to grow up without pain and live the active life Labradors are meant to have. He is the most amazing boy and I love him like he's one of my children.
What We Need to Raise
Since insurance has already been used for the first hip replacement, it won’t cover any further surgery, leaving us with the cost for:
Second hip replacement
Both elbow surgeries
Specialist consultations
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation
Pain management
Post-operative care
The remaining treatment costs come to £9,000 — far more than I can manage alone, especially on such an urgent timeline.
Why I’m Asking for Help
It’s incredibly difficult to ask for support, but I will do anything to give Sonny the pain-free life he deserves.
If he gets this surgery soon, he has an excellent chance at a full, happy, active life.
If not, the damage may soon be beyond repair.
Every donation — even £1 — brings us closer to giving him that chance.
