Our sister, Amy has suffered an unexpected stroke. She has been in the hospital / ICU for over a month. (Beginning right before Christmas) She has had ups and downs throughout the entire time. Taking everything day by day, and just waiting and praying.
The week after Christmas, to our joy, she has taken a turn for the better and has finally been responsive. She has quite a lot of rehab to get through so, she currently cannot speak at all and has extremely limited mobility. She is not able to care for herself at this time.
This last week she suffered an additional stroke with brain bleeding. She will need a blood filter to help control her bleeding. She is expected to enter sub-acute rehab next week.
The costs for her medical care have been significant, and will continue to grow since she will need weeks of rehab and then even more time of home care. The insurance is not covering all her medical costs and have restricted the amount of rehab care coverage they will provide (regardless of the the doctor’s prescribed orders) and as of now, will only cover her for the next week. It’s a daily struggle to get extended care.
She has a very long journey ahead of her. The last thing we want her and our Brother in Law to worry about is this large accumulated financial burden.
Amy and her husband love to travel together and take trips annually. She is an excellent crafter, loves microbrews and has a loving and kind heart.
We, her siblings, are helping as best we can and would like to kindly ask for your help. Even the smallest donation matters and we are grateful for it.
Please consider helping and sharing. Thank you.
