Hi my name is Sudarat I have created this fundraiser for my best friend Titaree.
Titaree is a 26 year old international student from Thailand, and late on Valentines Day 14th Feb she had a severe stroke, and was admitted to the intensive care unit in Sydney, after being on life support for over a week, she finally to everyone’s joy, opened her eyes on the 26th Feb, we had to wait a further two weeks after showing some progress for Titaree to be moved to a ward 8 West 2, bed 30, in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
19th March, Doctors have advised Titaree needs daily rehabilitation and that she would be in Hospital for another 3 months, this was their estimate in her current condition, Titaree international student insurance doesn’t have the level of cover needed, so we are left in a situation of keeping her in the hospital with minimal to little rehabilitation, or relocating her back to Thailand.
We were kindly given information from the Royal Prince Albert hospital for a company called Skybudi Be Moved, part of www.medical-connect.com.au, this has given us an estimate just to relocate Titaree of $20,000-30,000AUD, we understand on going care in Thailand will be more, but we just want her to get home to start her rehabilitation as quickly as possible, as the thought of not getting the best level of help, and being away from her family would be heartbreaking.
Titaree cannot fly by herself as this is due to part of her skull has yet to be reattached due to the swelling caused by the stroke, hence she must use one of these company services as they supply an accompanying nurse and cover full travel and medical insurance.
Thank you for reading this far, and if you cannot contribute, please pass Titaree’s story around your community, and let's get her home as soon as we can.
