Please Help Tina Live Thru Breast Cancer
Donation protected
I am Tina, and I need your help to get me through financially during the last of my cancer treatment, including 2 more chemotherapy treatments and breast surgery followed by radiation. Yes, the full treatment.
I began weekly chemotherapy on March 9, 2023 and I have managed to keep earning a paycheck until now. I’m 1 year short for senior Medicare, so I’m not able to access Social Security funding either. My earnings have only amounted to 20 hours per week during this time, so I have been unable to squirrel enough funding to maintain my expenses. With previous donations from family, I have managed until now. Now, I need your help; as you well know, living is expensive.
My expected living costs through the next 2 months including rent, utilities, and groceries is $2,800.00. June 30 is also the end of my work's fiscal year, which means that I am looking at restarting my health insurance's annual deductible, which is $2,000 before copays become available. I will be having surgery on both breasts on Wednesday, July 5th.
I was hoping to only miss 3 weeks of at least part-time work, but it looks like I might need a bit more time. I will keep you all updated. My supervisor looked into finding out about a mythical time bank at work, but it doesn't exist any longer.
My hope is that my friends help out the most since I have already received generous funding for the past few months from family; I just don’t feel comfortable asking for more help. I know times are difficult with everyone feeling the pinch these days, even if you give just $5, it would mean so much, and hopefully many hands with right the boat.
Earlier this week, I had a breakdown, I’m just hanging on at this point. I did the right thing, I reached out to 2 great friends, and Maggie said, “GoFundMe.” She echoed what Rosie previously messaged me. I had taken down a previous Facebook post because it made me feel too sad that it had come to this, that I had somehow failed. I know that not to be true, but it still stings.
