Please Help Tim Hill in his Battle with Cancer

As some of you may have heard, my Daddy, Tim Hill, has been fighting prostate cancer since March 2019. He has kept this information private from most friends and family for over a year as he is not the type of person to gripe or complain and doesn’t want people to worry about him. 

My Dad is one of the most selfless and Godly men that I know and has lived his life as a servant to others, whether that be by serving his country in both the Air Force and the Army or by serving his local community as a police officer. Even after his retirement from the police force, he has continued to serve people by donating his time at a local shelter for those in need and raising money for others in his community by using his talents to put on blue grass shows and comedy music productions.

Some of you may know him as the “singing police man” and heard him sing the National Anthem a time or two at the local rodeo, or know him from church, or you may know him from his time as a school resource officer where he touched many young people’s lives.
There have been so many people he has so selflessly been there for in their time of need throughout the years. The luckiest of these people get to call him Friend, Husband, Daddy, Son, Brother, Uncle, Neighbor, Pappy and last but not least, Blue Grass Family.

His cancer treatment and travel expenses have and will continue to put a financial strain on him, my step-mom, and my baby sister. He wouldn’t normally allow me to ask for help for him because he would rather be helping others, but my wonderful step-mom and I have convinced him that it is a blessing to us to be able to help him now in his time of need as he has helped so many others.

I know this is a hard time for all of us, but if you are able, please consider contributing to help out with some of his medical bills and expenses.

His doctor is located in Houston, Texas, so every time he attends an appointment, he has to also pay for lodging and other travel expenses and he is still working to pay off expenses from previous trips to Houston to see his Doctor. Due to some unforeseen complications during his surgery on Friday, he had to remain in the hospital longer than expected. Also after his release he’s had to pay to stay in Texas for additional days so that he could be near to his doctor’s office as they still need to remove drain tube they weren’t able to remove because of the complications.  There will, of course, be other follow up visits and expenses.

We’re grateful.  We feel fortunate that he’s been able to have great medical care.  But mostly we feel fortunate that his spirit is unbroken and his willingness to bless us with a smile or a song or just some of his time to talk and to listen, as always, is enduring.
