Please help this family from Ukraine! They were forced to flee their hometown of Odesa which was hit hard by Russian bombing. The Nekrashchuk family includes 37-year-old Alex, his 36-year-old wife Mariia, their 14-year-old son Maksym and 6-year-old daughter Ariana. Alex was at sea, working in the Merchant Fleet when Russian missiles first struck Odesa. Mariia and the kids fled on their own, finding refuge in Bulgaria. Alex caught up with them after his ship's next port call and they all moved to Ireland where they were able to get temporary refugee housing. That contract ended in June 2023 and since then they have been staying in a school gym. More than anything, Alex and Mariia want a safe and promising future for their children and will do whatever it takes to provide that.
Fortunately, the Nekrashchuk family has been sponsored by my parents, Karen & Tony Edmonds, through the US government's Uniting for Ukraine program and they are flying to the United States on September 8th! The Nekrashchuk family will be living in my parent's home in Virginia for up to two years while they get acclimated, find work and save for a place of their own. While my parents will provide food and lodging, the Nekrashchuk's have no possessions beyond their suitcases. You can help them with funds for their flights, clothing, a car, school supplies and household items for the home they hope to someday have on their own.
Thank you for considering the possibility of supporting the Nekrashchuk family and their transition to a new, independent life in the United States. You can help make their American Dream a reality.
