Theresita's Fight Against Cancer.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Theresita Mitchell-Roberts. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. To add, I am also a breast cancer survivor. I thank you for taking this time to read my story.
Six years ago, I received the heart breaking diagnosis of stage 2 breast cancer. I underwent surgery and had a lumpectomy of my right breast at Cleveland Clinic, Weston, Florida. For that procedure, I was under the care of Dr. C. Blake, General Surgeon and Dr. T. Samuel, Hematologist-Oncologist.
After this procedure, I continued for 6 years with treatment in the form of a pill called Tamoxifen. This preventative measure was taken to block the estrogen which, in my case, supplied the growth of the cancer.
After years of fighting this battle, on 8th February, 2020 it was discovered that the cancer had returned. I was told that the cancer had spread to my ovaries and liver. On 23rd March, 2020 I then underwent a full abdominal hysterectomy and removed the tumor on the liver. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to return to Cleveland Clinic and had the procedure done in my homeland of The Bahamas under the care of Dr. Raleigh Butler, MD FRCOGFACOG.
After this procedure, I was treated with chemotherapy every 2 weeks along with the use of a drug called Femara. After 7 months of these treatments, I was again diagnosed with an abdominal tumor.
As you can only imagine, this is a hard battle that my family and I are fighting. I know that I will overcome and defeat cancer with the help of the Lord. This battle has depleted our savings and I am appealing to any and everyone that is reading my story for your gracious financial assistance. I am in urgent need of medical care. I am in constant dialog with my doctors at Cleveland Clinic to prepare for the necessary urgent treatments required.
For me to continue this fight, I am pleading with you for any financial assistance you can provide to assist with medical bills. I know in my heart that the Lord did not bring me this far to leave me. With that, I again humbly ask you for any financial donation that you are able to provide. I also ask that you kindly share my story on your social media platforms. I truly appreciate your assistance.
Thank you all, and may God bless you in abundance.
Terry.
