Peace be upon you all. I'm Carlos Vázquez «Ig: carlosy.vortiz», I’m from Puerto Rico and I’m raising funds for the wonderful Yaghi family, a family that became very close to my heart.
“We are the Mahmoud Yaghi family from Gaza, Palestine. This family currently consists of 14 members: a sister, wife, unmarried sons, married sons and daughters, their husbands and wives, and grandchildren.
Two elderly women and six children, aged 4 to 11.
The two women suffer from several ailments and require healthcare, including: hearing loss requiring hearing aid programming and batteries, neuropathy, spinal cord damage, high blood pressure, a previous hip fracture, and osteoarthritis. They require medication and a wheelchair.
For more than two years, from October 7, 2023, until this moment, we continue to suffer.
Under bombardment, we were displaced from our home in November 2023. We lost our store and our source of livelihood at that moment, which was destroyed by bombing and burning. We were displaced several times, first within Gaza City, then to Khan Yunis, then to Rafah, then to Khan Yunis. We lived in dilapidated tents for 15 months, until February 2025, without the necessities of life and without a source of income. We endured many difficult times.
... Then, for seven months, from March 2025 to October 2025, we lived under the most severe siege, without food or drinking water, and with prices 100 times higher than normal.
We lived through the bombing and fear again from March 2025 until October 2025, and the situation remains unstable and unsafe to this day, in addition to the state of chaos and anarchy we live in. There is no safe place here. We were displaced from our home under bombardment again in September 2025, to the city of Az-Zawaida, where we live in tents. Our house had been previously subjected to tank shelling and burning several times, and was bombed and completely destroyed in September 2025.
My grandfather Mahmoud was martyred on October 1, 2025, as a result of the shelling of the tents of displaced civilians here.
Our tents were also destroyed as a result of this shelling.
We lost everything: our father Mahmoud, our home, our livelihood, and our jobs. The children lost two years of school. Our lives were completely destroyed, and we do not feel safe here at all.
We have incurred a lot of debt because of this war, as a result of the ongoing displacement, the lack of a source of income, and the repeated construction of tents.
We need everything: safety, shelter, food, clean drinking water, water for personal hygiene, cleaning supplies and materials for personal hygiene and health, healthcare and medicine, education for our children, and the basics of daily life. We need to feel like other human beings, to feel reassured and safe, and to feel that there is a future.
We have elderly people in need of healthcare and medications for chronic diseases. We need healthcare for women and their needs. We need healthcare for children who suffer greatly from infectious diseases due to the lack of cleaning supplies. With your donations and help, we can pay off our debts, provide for our basic needs, and provide food, medicine, water, cleaning supplies, and clothing. You can make children happy again, you can give us security again, you can give us all a better future and a better life. Don't hesitate to do good. We are in dire need of your support and assistance after we've lost everything. Share this with everyone to help us.”
