Please Help The Schafers

My name is Dianna Alan and I live in a city just outside of Fort lauderdale. For those of you who do not know, we have had record-breaking flooding in our area. People had to abandon their cars because they could not go any further or they had stalled. The airport shut down because the runways became lakes. And, many people have extensive damage to their property, including my friends Vanessa and Neal Schafers. They sent me videos of the flood waters creeping toward their front door. And, within an hour after that, they told me that the water made its way into the house. And, if that weren't enough. The next day brought more storms and more water. They tried desperately to keep the flooding at bay, but it was just too much.

I saw their home today and my heart went out to them. The damage is extensive. Floors torn out, baseboards ripped out, many items ruined, all doors ruined and so much more. It may be easier to see the pictures.

Today, they were told that they shouldn't stay in the house for at least the next week.

My goal is to help raise funds to help with the cost of a hotel for Vanessa, Neal and their three girls (Gabi, Emily, & Mila) and their puppy (Bodhi). I would be deeply grateful for any amount towards helping this family. They are already under enough stress with the mess in their house. I would love to be able to relieve the stress of where they will be living for the next week.
