PLEASE HELP THE ROSENDAHL FAMILY REBUILD THEIR LIVES AFTER LOSS
Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
at approximately midnight on September 28th, 2025, my brother and his family's life was turned upside down by a devastating house fire that consumed our childhood home on East 8th Street in Duluth, Minnesota.
While we are incredibly grateful that my brother Mike, his wife Ashley and their two kids, my niece and nephew Aurora and Arlo all made it out safely, they have lost everything. Tragically, all of their fur-babies - sweet Sterling the chihuahua and their cat Doja lost their lives. Pinky, their hairless cat is assumed to have passed as well but has not been found.
*****AN UPDATE ON PINKY! SHE HAS BEEN FOUND! Pinky was found in the basement, scared, burned but ALIVE! She is receiving care at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Duluth, whom have graciously waved many expensive fees from the bills to help ensure we can afford to provide Pinky the care she needs. Thank you.
After seven hours at the emergency vet, Pinky’s examination so far has revealed second and third degree burns on all of her paws and legs, as well as first degree burns on her chest. Future operations and care will almost certainly be necessary to ensure quality of life. Vet bills will begin accumulating but an exact amount will not be known until after treatments.*****
Their home, a place of comfort and countless memories, generations of childhood love and fun is now gone, along with all of their possessions, including their clothing, furniture, toys and sentimental items.
Anyone who lived on this block knew this home was welcome to all and more than just our family spent their childhoods and created memories here.
The path to recovery is overwhelming, and they are faced with the immediate and long-term challenge of starting over from scratch. While they do have insurance, the process is slow, and it won't cover many of their immediate needs.
We are asking for your help in getting them back on their feet during this incredibly difficult time.
Your generous donation will help them with:
Securing temporary housing and a security deposit for a new place.
Replacing daily essentials like clothing, toiletries, and food.
Covering expenses while they focus on the immediate tasks of rebuilding their lives.
Ensuring quality of life veterinarian care for Pinky, their only surviving fur-baby whom was found in the basement burned but alive.
Even the smallest contribution will make a significant difference. If you are unable to donate, we would be so grateful if you would share our fundraiser with your network. Your support, thoughts, and kind words mean the world to us right now.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us.
