We hope this letter finds you well. No Barriers has traveled to the Peruvian Amazon last year, and our tour guides are in dire need for help. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, our tour guides in Peru are experiencing a multitude of difficulties due to the lack of tourism in their country. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you Ricardo (tour guide from 1st Amazon trip) has passed away from contracting the virus from a tourist. Cesar and Percy are unable to provide the basic needs, including food, for their families as they are out of a job.
We are reaching out to you, pleading for help for our tour guides. They were all incredibly welcoming on our trip to the Amazon, taking into account our best interests and constantly going out of their way to ensure the happiness of the group. Because of their overwhelming hospitality over the duration of the trip, we are putting together a GoFundMe page to help our three beloved tour guides during this time of crisis. Anything, even if you think it is not a lot, will help feed their families and keep them afloat during these troubling times.
