Please help the Olsen’s with medical costs

UPDATE as of 5/30/2023: Jeff has lost his courageous battle with cancer at 12:40 am this morning. He fought hard, but in the end, it was just too much for Jeff. If you are still wanting to help, Shawnna could definitely use some help with Jeff’s final wishes and his many medical bills left behind. Shawnna fought hard right along side Jeff and she is tired. It would be a great load off of her to not have to stress about the enormous medical bills over the past six months. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, my name is Carrie Frederickson and I am fundraising for my sister in law, Shawnna, and her husband Jeff Olsen. Jeff was diagnosed this November with lung cancer. Though we won’t know what stage it is until next week, the surgeon at the biopsy today says she suspects it’s much further along than she suspected at his first appointment two days ago. They will definitely need help with medical expenses because, even though Jeff has decent medical insurance, just the biopsy today required a $3,000 out-of-pocket down payment before they would do anything. That procedure alone depleted what little savings they had. They will still need money up front for a PET scan and surgery just to start. Jeff will have some disability leave through work but the surgeon said he will likely need chemo, surgery, more chemo, radiation, and possibly immunotherapy as well. I will definitely update as we learn more about his specific medical needs. He will likely not be able to work for certain periods of time while he is fighting for his life. Shawnna takes care of kids and works numerous side jobs to supplement Jeff’s income, but times are tough and it’s just not enough. Shawnna is a selfless person and has always helped others in huge ways when they needed her. She was there for her sister Sundee through her breast cancer treatment and there for Sundee’s six kids when Sundee lost her life to COVID 19 almost three years ago. As you can imagine, she’s feeling pretty overwhelmed having to go through something like this again so soon. The last thing her loved ones want for her is to worry about how she’s going to pay for Jeff’s medical expenses and their living expenses while he’s unable to work. She will be listed as the beneficiary and all the funds will go directly to her as she is the one who pays the bills for the family. Thank you so much for anything you can donate.
