Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share that our family’s home in Altadena was completely destroyed by the recent wildfire. Like so many others in our community, we’re struggling to come to terms with what’s happened and figuring out where to go from here.
Our home wasn’t just a house—it was a part of our family for three generations. It originally belonged to our uncle John Kelly, and in 1992, we were fortunate enough to make it ours. Over the years, my parents poured their hearts and every bit of extra money into remodeling and upgrading it, turning it into a warm, welcoming place that brought our blended family together. That house symbolized a fresh start for all of us, and losing it has been incredibly hard.
My dad has been with LA County Metro for over 40 years, and my mom has worked as an LA County employee for more than 30 years. They’ve dedicated their lives to serving others, and they invested all their savings into creating a safe and loving home for our family.
Seeing my parents’ faces as they stood in front of the ashes of what used to be our home is something I’ll never forget. It was a place filled with love, laughter, and countless memories—and now it’s gone.
We’re asking for your help with unexpected costs that may not be covered by other sources of aid. Any support—whether it’s a donation, sharing resources, or even just kind words—would mean the world to us. Your generosity and compassion can help us take the first steps toward healing and finding hope again.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading this and for any help you can offer.
with Gratitude,
Jovan
