On September 16th, while playing basketball with his friends, Tom collapsed from a heart attack. After receiving CPR and prompt response from his friends and EMS, he was brought to Harborview Medical Center where he was stabilized. He ended up with several broken ribs and a lesion on his liver from the CPR that saved his life.
 
After many lab tests, CT scans, etc, Tom now faces coronary bypass surgery within the next 2-4 weeks. The doctors/medical staff feel it's safest for Tom to stay in the hospital until his surgery is performed at UW Medical Center. This means he is separated from his loving wife, Katie and their two boys, Cameron (6) & Kasen (2). The expense of medical bills, loss of wages, gas for travel, increased childcare, etc, has only started to add up.
