Please help the Milligan's get Lisa's wish.

Hi our name's are Stacey and Wendy, and we are fundraising on behalf of Lisa Milligan and family.

Lisa is one of the warmest and kindest people you could ever meet. She is a very proud mum to 6 children, all of whom have been extremely active in many community sporting clubs in Echuca, Lockington, Rochester and Elmore throughout the years. In a addition to supporting her children and all of their friends in their many sporting endeavors, Lisa is also an avid (and I mean avid) Hawthorn supporter, but let’s not hold that against her! Lisa is renowned for her incredible slice making abilities and always provides a container full of the team’s favorite treats, and a personal birthday message every year no matter how little impact you have had on her life.

In March 2024 Lisa was diagnosed with Hormone positive breast cancer stage 3, which has spread to her lymph nodes. Over the past 12 months she has endured multiple surgeries, 14 rounds of chemotherapy (5 resulting in her having to need hospital admission due to the side effects), a blood transfusion, multiple MRI and CT scans and that is just the beginning. Lisa had had quite a few set-backs with her treatment. As a result of the chemotherapy, she has now developed osteoporosis. She still has many battles ahead.

As we could all only imagine, the financial and emotional strain this has put on the family has been enormous, particularly as Lisa has been unable to work since her first diagnosis and as private health cover does not cover many of the medical expenses incurred.

Despite all this, Lisa is still fighting with all her might and has no intention on backing down.

She has set herself a challenge that at the end of this she wants nothing more that to be able to take her family to Africa on safari. It is something they have spoken about for ever and a day, but never had the opportunity to do so.

I am hoping this go fund me page will be spread far and wide and will raise money not only to assist the family financially with Lisa's ongoing treatment and medical expenses, but to help give Lisa and the family the chance to fulfil her wish to see Africa in all its glory. All money donated will go straight into Lisa’s account.
