Funeral details for Luke:

Thursday, August 29th at 10 am at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Brooklyn Heights.

The family is requesting that if you are attending, please arrive a few minutes early.

Update - After an unforeseen complication in the ICU, Luke has passed away. The family is experiencing unspeakable grief. He died at peace and in no pain. Thank you all for everything you've done for Luke and his family.

On Tuesday, August 13th, Sara Marentte's 17 year old child, Luke, was involved in a life-threatening incident in New Hampshire that left him in a coma, after experiencing a severe cardiac event and near drowning. 

Luke was airlifted from New Hampshire to Beth Israel in Boston, where he is currently in the ICU. 

Sara's entire family - Walker, Henry, and Cala, and Luke's father are now rallying around Luke in the hospital. They are awaiting news to find out Luke's neurological prognosis. 

Sara is unable to work during this time, and has to stay close to the hospital to be available for constant monitoring and care of Luke. Hotel costs, meals, care for Walker and Henry - along with Sara being unable to work during this tenuous time - is financially devastating for the family. 

Sara has been a long-time part of the PS 58 and Brooklyn Community, and has cared and supported so many of her community during difficult times. It's our turn to give back. Anything you can give will help with Sara and the kids' hotel, food, and caregiving costs. This has the potential to be a long road for Luke, so Sara will need a lot of support.
