Hello Friends and Family-

My name is Katey, Brian's oldest daughter. I received very sad news yesterday that Dad had fallen down his stairs at home and sustained many injuries including broken ribs, injuries to his knee, spinal cord and also finding out he will have to have his lower leg amputated due to prior infection. Dad is admitted to Harborview Medical Center waiting for surgery. Doctors' will be doing surgery to repair his spinal cord injuries and leg amputation back to back with the amputation being the easier of the two. He is currently in a full body cast and heavily sedated due to the amount of pain he is enduring.

OUR( I'm speaking for all his children) DAD is the most amazing father we could have ever asked for. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed one. Dad has spent many hours of his life giving back to others. One true example would be Mr. Claus and right beside him you'd find his wonderful loving wife Mrs. Claus AKA Sandy:) He brings so much joy to so many children all over the state of Washington. If you didn't believe, you surely will after you encounter this jolly ol man with rosy red cheeks and a heart of gold.

My dad is on disability, and there's no way him and his wife can pay for all the medical bills they will be incurring. I'm asking all of his Warrior Friends and Family to donate whatever they can to help Dad and Sandy get through this without any extra added stress. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him and will need all the love and support we can give.

UPDATE: Doctors just found out as I was writing this that they found a calcified aortic valve, is having chest pains, has concerning amount of dangerous enzymes in his heart tissue that could lead to a heart attack, and his stint seems to not be working as well since it's 20 years old so they are monitoring him now to see if a heart surgery is necessary before the other surgeries.
