My name is Jen and I am a very close friend of Colin Lester, On behalf of Colin and the Lester family I am asking for your support.

As of Sunday June 8th 2025 Colin has been admitted to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Flesh Eating Disease(Strep A infection) in his right hand/arm that has required emergency surgery to remove the infected tissue and bacteria. He will remain hospitalized for an uncertain amount of time so they can monitor his condition do skin graft surgeries etc, then there will be physio and rehab work that needs to be done.

Colin has been a resident here on the Eastern Shore for over 30 years, he is a successful business owner within the Musquodoboit Harbour community owning and operating "Colin and Sons Care Care", Colin is also a husband and a father and the main provider for his family, while his partner Sara is a stay at home mom raising their 3 boys.

The road to recovery is unknown at this time but due to the severity of the size of the site in which they had to remove we can only guess this is going to be a very long road for Colin and his family and his life long career as a mechanic may be over.

Anyone who knows Colin and his Family would agree that they are very much a kind, quiet, generous family who NEVER asks for help so I have with their permission set up this gofund me to help them with all the upcoming expenses while Colin is unable to work. Being self employed there is no option for sick leave or unemployment, and during this scary and uncertain time worrying about their bills, travel expenses etc should not be a burden to them.

Colin goes out of his way to help people within the community now it is time for the community to rally together and support them while they navigate this very scary and unfortunate diagnosis.
