Please help the Knapp’s after a devastating Fire
Donation protected
This morning was an absolute tragedy for my sister, brother-in-law (Grayson), and nephew (Max). A fire broke out, causing a devastating amount of damage to their home. A home they will never be able to go back to. Thank God they are all safe (I’m sure our dad and Grayson’s mom had a hand in that ), but they lost basically everything. Most clothing, shoes, personal items, and hygiene items are all gone to the fire. They left with what they were wearing at the time. The fire department did let them grab a few things once it was deemed safe, but it literally isn’t even enough to fill the trunk of a car.
My sister is an extremely hard worker who has gone above and beyond to make sure her family has the basic things they need to survive. She has worked hard to have the things she did. When someone needs her, she is always there to help, and I don’t think I have ever encountered a time where she did not help me when I needed it. That is why I am reaching out to all our family and friends for help. They need it desperately right now. She does have renter's insurance, but we all know how that process works, and today (Labor Day), not a single soul is around to answer the phone or to message back.
Thankfully, the Red Cross has been huge. They helped get food, basic hygiene, a change of clothes, and a roof over their (and the dogs') heads for the next two nights at a local hotel. Several people have reached out, and some have even dropped off a few things, which is amazing and greatly appreciated. If you are able to help, please do. If you are not, just a kind message of encouragement would be great as well.
If you do not feel comfortable using GoFundMe but would like to help, please contact us personally. They will also be looking for a new home that must allow pets. If you know a property available please message us.
