Our Malverne neighbors of 22 years and friends, Carolann (school nurse at James A. Dever Elementary School) and Brian Jaffe, and sons Alex and Paul, are in need of our help.  Brian was a health care worker at Kingsbrooke Jewish Hospital where he contracted Covid-19 on April 11th.  Hospitalized and on a ventilator for 40 days, his fate was day to day.  He survived and did in-patient rehab for an additional 30 days.  Brian relies on oxygen 24/7 and receives pulmonary therapy at St Francis Hospital for extensive lung damage as well as home care for OT/PT.  He is scheduled for vocal cord surgery at the end of this month due to damage from the extensive amount of time he was vented. Brian has not been able to work since April. 

This has left a financial burden on the Jaffes. Carolann and Brian will be ever grateful for any help you are able to give.
