Please Help the Jackson's! Flood Damage

Hello! My name is Bree and I am setting this account up to help my Aunt. Here is her story:

On January 7th the Wenatchee River and Scatter Creek overflowed flooding parts of Rochester. It was stunning how quickly the water rose catching us completely by surprise. The water around our house was so deep it went over my knee high rubber boots. It started to enter the house that evening. Our bedroom flooded first then our living area a little later. All the furniture is ruined. We had to leave the house the next day when the toilets stopped working since we are on a septic system. The water receded after a few days and we came home once toilets started working. We are also on a well so all water has to be boiled. The well has to be pumped and treated so that’s going to cost about $1000. Totally cost for everything will probably be a least $10,000. I am in the clean up process now. We have to cut the carpet up in our living area and have it removed before we can move back into our living area. I already have a nice dump pile going. Water is so destructive. Now for the really bad news. Last year FEMA took us off the flood zone and told us we no longer had to carry flood insurance!! I did call my insurance company and got a big “Sorry” from them. I called FEMA and it hasn’t been declare a disaster yet so I’m waiting to hear about that. I am thankful none of my animals were harmed and that we are home again. I definitely have a new respect for the power of Mother Nature.
