Please help the helper! Mother Champion needs US!

She'ren Esther Champion has been affectionately known to the community as Mother Champion. Mother Champion has faithfully served her community for over 40 years. She has been the police chaplain for East Palo Alto since 2012 and police chaplain for Mountain View since 2016. She was awarded police chaplain of the year in 2018. Mother Champion has devoted her life to helping others she is indeed a helpers helper.

At the end of June, Mother Champion was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with Cancer. On June 29, 2020, emergency surgery was required to remove a large, cancerous tumor, which had started to overcome her system. The surgery took double the amount of time as a standard procedure. She was released from the hospital on July 8, 2020 and is now recuperating with family preparing for the next phase of treatment. 

Due to the length of surgery and time spent in the hospital, the 20% co-payment and the cost for the in-home care which is not covered by Medicare, the unforeseen medical costs will be difficult to cover for the family to pay.
