Please Help the Floyd Cardenas Family

Hi, my name is Ray Ruiz, I am petitioning and asking for donations for my buddy - a loving Father, Husband, and Brother in Blue whom was suddenly & unexpectedly taken from us this past week.

K9/SWAT Dep. Floyd Cardenas unselfishly served the greater San Antonio/Bexar County Area for the past 18 years. During his service, he served a multitude of many different roles, most recently serving as Head K9 Trainer and SWAT Team Operator. Our brother always gave 110% and never complained, often jumping from operation to operation in a single day no matter what the situation was or how tired he felt. He believed in working hard and training people the right way to be all they could be despite the many rigors, lack of appreciation, and high stress (health issues) that many law enforcement officers are faced with today.

Although Floyd literally spent and sacrificed a lot of time away from home to do his job - his family sacrificed greatly with him as well. His two beautiful children and loving wife were his foundation and support system. When he wasn't working he made sure to devote as much time as possible to his wife and kids. He would tell me that he didn't want them to grow up without knowing him and his love for them.

Unfortunately, as mentioned before, Floyd unexpectedly passed away the night after working at SWAT training then hearing that there was a Wanted/Armed Subject on the loose decided to head over with his trusty K9 - Tango. Despite the heat and his exhaustion Floyd gave his all that evening. I am honored and proud to have partaken in this last deployment with him and I ask with a heavy heart that you contribute to either/or his funeral needs, or the future needs of his wife and children that he leaves behind.
