If you feel led, please help support Gage and his Family during this miraculous journey!
On May 31st, Gage sustained injuries when he fell out of the back of a pickup truck. He sustained several injuries, including three skull fractures, a bruised lung, and a bleeding vein leading to his heart. Additionally, he had a brain bleed and he was transported to Enid from the local fire station, but the facilities there were not capable of handling his injuries. He was then transferred to OU Childrens Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain removing a piece of his skull.
He was on life support at OU for 15 days then transferred to Bethany Children's for rehabilitation to continue his journey of healing. Gage is doing well and I am extremely proud of him. He was finally able to drink and eat solid food, he is currently in a wheelchair and relearning everyday functions. Each day he has Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.
We are looking at 8 to 12 weeks at Bethany, my sister Barbara has not been able to work and has been at the hospital with Gage around the clock. She does have two other children at home in Hennessy our mother is staying there and driving from Hennessy to Bethany a few times a week to see Gage and their mom Barbara. The drive is approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic and weather. My sister and I have been driving back and forth from Dallas to Bethany, OK to assist Gage and Barbara through this miraculous journey are we are just wanting to offer her help in any way possible. Thank each and every person that has sent prayers and been sending love to our guy. He is an amazing kid and stronger than anyone could have ever imagined.
