Please Help the de Wet Family in Saying Goodbye

The lovely woman in the picture is Mary de Wet, my mother. We recently found out that she has cancer in her lungs, liver and spine along with acute leukemia. At this time, due to the pain and the overall unlikelihood that she will recover, my mom has decided to go into palliative care.

My mom has beat cancer twice before, once when she was in high school and again during my freshman year of college. She has been a force of nature for as long as I can remember and because of that grit and determination, I was able to attend Norwich University where I graduated and commissioned into the US Army. However, she is tired now. She’s done with the pain of being poked and prodded. And as much as I want to convince her to fight and take whatever treatment is offered, I can’t.

With that being said, my family and I can’t afford her burial. Please help us give this courageous, fierce woman a burial worthy of her years of love and dedication.
