On Saturday August 28th, a small business location owned by 6 different families burned down. The business was a shared space for the Cruz Family's printshop & photo studio, a hair salon, tax preparation, tailor and Folklorico custom dress maker. This was a Family owned business located in East LA, that has been serving the community for more than 15 years and are now facing a devastating blow to their livelihood.

It was a tragic accidental fire that resulted in thousand of dollars lost in equipment, and years of hard work gone in an instant. The Cruz Family, who owned the printing and photo shop, have worked so hard to maintain their business during the pandemic. After the family caught Covid, Jose Cruz, one of the owners and sole provider for his wife and two children, was hospitalized. They struggled to recover from Covid, and to make ends meet while keeping the business afloat. Now they face the challenge of having to rebuild during a pandemic.
