For those of you who know (or don't know), my sister Eerika and her husband Adam moved back to Thunder bay in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic with their little son, Manny. Their desire to live close to our parents started to finally take shape after many years of living in southern Ontario.
Their hopes to have a sibling for Manny has taken much longer to happen though, and through many trials and heartbreaks they decided to turn to IVF for help. This journey has not been easy (or inexpensive), but finally this spring they became pregnant with another little boy, due this December.
As they've been working hard to get everything ready to move into their home near our parents before the baby arrives, complications have struck again.
Just this week Eerika was suddenly and unexpectedly sent to a hospital in Toronto to meet with a doctor where she has now been admitted and will need to stay until at least mid-October (and possibly longer) as there is a medical complication with the pregnancy.
With these sudden changes, and Manny about to start junior kindergarten, Adam has had to take a leave from work to stay home and care for their son, as well as move.
This go-fund-me is being set up to help alleviate some of the financial strain for Eerika and Adam during this difficult time by helping to cover loss of wages for Adam as well as flights so that Manny can visit his mommy during these months that she's away. This is likely their last opportunity to bring another child into their family, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and if you are able to help them out financially, any donations are greatly appreciated by our whole family!
