Chiappone Family Accident

Donation protected
On March 10th 2018, every parents nightmare came true.  Anthony (Nino) (age 19), and his sister Ainsley (age 15) were in a horrible car accident.  Nino received life threatening injuries, and is in critical condition in the ICU.  He is suffereing with severe head trauma, a broken arm, broken ribs and is currently diagnosed with pneumonia.  His family is praying for the moment he gets to wake up and see them by his side as he fights to recover.

Ainsley also suffered head, facial and torso injuries, but was more fortunate.  She was treated and released the same day and is physically healing.   Witnesses at the scene shared how Ainsley had no concern for her own injuries as she tried to protect Nino while first responders were working  to extract him from the vehicle.

Nino is a Marine Reservist with plans of attending college this fall.  His other siblings include Delaney and Dominick who are continuing to attend school, and help around the house while Anthony and Sue spend as much time as possible at the hospital.

What can I do to help?

The Chiappone Family will be facing  medical expenses, income loss,  and the emotional distress of watching their child fight for his life.  The extent of Nino's brain trauma is unknown at this time.  We do know there will be a need for ongoing therapy which typically has  high co-pays, and can be several times a week.  We believe their expenses will run beyond the donation goal, however we hope that this will ease some of the financial burden.

I am blessed to be in the lives of this close knit family .  Our hopes are to help give them financial support so that they are able to focus on the emotional and physical healing.    Every little bit will enable the family to be more comfortable with all the little things too, such as having to purchase hospital food and delivery,  lodging in the hospital when possible, and the constant travel from home to hospital and back.

Please share this page, and help support the Chiappone family in this time of need.   Every little bit helps.  They are very appreciative and thankful for the emotional support and time that family and friends have spent with them at the hospital.

I will continue to provide updates as Nino makes progress.   They hope to be able to perform surgery on his arm next week once the pneumonia is under control.

Our prayers are with the Chiappone family during this difficult time.
