Hello. We are the family of Arthur and Gloria Butler of Eagle Point, Oregon. Our sister, Gloria contracted COVID in late August and remains hospitalized at Asante' Hospital in Medford. On September 8th, her husband of 37 years, Arthur died suddenly and, at this time inexplicably, at the couples home. Arthur and Gloria have 3 living children and are helping care for and raise several grandchildren. We are sad to say that Arthur had no life insurance and although he served 15 years in the military, there are very few benefits for our Veterans.
Gloria is fighting hard to heal from COVID but it is likely she will be hospitalized for several more days if not weeks. At that time, she will need to have physical and rehabilitative therapy and may not be able to return to work for quite some time.
As you see, there are many unknowns regarding timelines for Gloria. One thing that is clear is that this family needs help now. This is not an easy ask and it took some persuading as our sister and brother in law are very proud people. However, this is insurmountable at this time and may continue to be for months to come. Their daughter stated today that funeral costs for Arthur to be placed next to his son are nearing $20,000 alone.
If you are able to help at all, our family would be so grateful. If you are not able, please share with those you know. Our family wishes you all blessings, good health and above all, our gratitude for reading this.
