As some of you know, Terri Patnaude-
Twitty, my sister, went into V-Fib on the beach while fishing two years ago last month. She was literally declared dead for 50 minutes. The EMTs and hospital staff kept her alive with forced oxygen. Unfortunately, this lack of oxygen to the brain and spinal cord caused paralysis in both of her legs. To make matters worse, she developed CRPS (aka RSD) in both of her legs. This causes her legs to be freezing cold for at least 15 hours per day. It’s like laying on ice and considered the most pain of any disease per the McGill Pain Scale.
Terri is now at the Spero Clinic, www.thesperoclinic.com, in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she is doing at least a 14 week protocol to attempt to put the pain in remission. This is the only clinic of its kind in the world, and there are multiple patients from out of the county. The average cost of the medical treatment alone is $3,000 per week plus you have to live here for at least three months, in which she pays $2000 per month for rent and utilities. Her daughter Lauren is staying with her for the summer as her caregiver, cook, and driver. We are attempting to raise some money to offset these costs, none of which is covered by insurance.
She has been there for five weeks and is already feeling sensations in her legs that she hasn’t felt in two years. Something is definitely working at the clinic!!! I have attached some photos of her ongoing therapies. Please help if you can!
