Please Help TDSB ECE Twyla Downie

Hi, my name is Dottie and I am a Kindergarten teacher in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). I am fundraising for Twyla Downie, who is a hard-working and caring occasional Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in the TDSB. On Tuesday, April 2nd, Twyla suffered a devastating loss when she arrived home from work. The home in which she rented space endured a fire, and with the fire, smoke, and water damage, all she has left is the clothing she wore to school and the bag she brought with her that day. The most horrific part of this tragedy is the loss of her beloved little dog, Chloe, who died of smoke inhalation in the fire. Twyla is heartbroken beyond words. She has no home, no personal affects, no cherished keepsakes, and she no longer has her loving canine companion, about whom she spoke fondly and often. Please donate what you can to help her with the immediate basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing, and personal care items, as well as providing her with the means to take some necessary time away from work to recover from her traumatic loss, and help her to rebuild her life when she has a home to which to return. We are also hoping to gather enough money for Twyla to be able to pay for an appropriate memorial for her dog, Chloe (cremation, clay paw print). Every little bit counts toward helping this beautiful person begin to heal from this tragedy and move forward with her life. Thank you. :)
