- Hi I’m Sam, I’m the oldest of two. I’m making this to help my family and to get through this hard time. My mom just turned 53 on April 9th, 2022 and we were happy to be able to celebrate her birthday with her. On Wednesday April 13th, my mom woke up at 3am to make coffee for my dad and her like she always does. But because of her chorea disease it causes her to be off balance and be unstable when she walks. She usually doesn’t use her walker because it makes her feel like she has a disability. My little brother heard her fall and helped her back into her room, but he didn’t realized she hit her head. At 6am my dad woke up and found her unresponsive and gasping for air. We called the 911 immediately and they rushed her to Straub where they determined she had a severe brain injury that caused her brain to bleed. After almost two days of her being on the ventilator they determined that she was brain dead. It was the hardest thing for my family and I to witness my mom’s last breathe. She doesn’t have any family in hawaii and her dream was to always go back to Vietnam and visit her family, but it was always too expensive and it was locked down for the longest. My mom was the sweetest and most kind hearted person. She always puts everybody before herself like how all moms do. It would be amazing if you guys could help out with anything. Help me lay her to rest with her family. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate every single one of you guys.
