Please Help Sweet June Fight Parvo

Donation protected
This is my baby girl June; my heart and soul dog, the angel of our family. For the past four days, my sweetest girl has been fighting for her life. June contracted parvovirus, and though she is fully vaccinated, she has become gravely ill.

Right now June is at the California Veterinary Specialty hospital in Carlsbad, California in 24 hour care. She is on IV fluids and antibiotics, has a feeding tube and is being monitored continually. Though it was touch and go, there are signs that she is ever so slowly making progress. If she stays in the hospital’s care through this tough period, she has a real hope of living. There is not a guarantee, but the chances of survival when hospitalized are between 70 and 90%. When a dog is cared for at home, the chances fall below 50%. One vet told me an honest estimate for home care survival is less than 30%.

But staying at the hospital boils down to finances. I have exhausted all of my savings - and I am at my limit. Opening a business this year wiped us out, and I am so ashamed to admit, I have gone through savings in the first few days of June becoming ill. It Is so hard to ask for help, but this little baby means more to my family than I can find to words to express. She is pure love covered in fur.

This morning June has turned a corner just a little for the better. It’s this little sliver of hope that is keeping my kids and me from imagining the worst. And it is this slight positive news which has convinced us to keep her going. But she must stay in the hospital in order to keep improving.

My close friends and family know it’s hard for me to ask for help, but right now I am beyond my ego and asking for any support possible. Whether help comes in the form of a donation, a loan, a seat to a farm table dinner or simply a loving prayer - I am begging for the help.

I have rescued, rehabbed, fostered, transported, adopted, sheltered, and donated thousands of hours, time and money to animals in need. We always say yes when an animal has come into our lives. In all these years, I never thought that I would have to ask for help for my own animal.

If you know my baby girl June bug, you’ve met an angel on earth. Her blue eyes are pools of pure love, and her gentle kind way of greeting everyone if just so special. She is a little bright light; there’s just something so gosh darn special about her. She has been sent to earth to comfort those she meets, especially children and people who are hurting.

To return the gratitude, I’m scheduling a farm table dinner in June’s honor, in our humble and loving home - for any amount donated. If you are not nearby, I will mail a personalized printed professional photograph, with baby June in the landscape, to thank you for your kindness.

Some might say, she’s just a dog. But have you ever been so close with another soul, you cannot imagine a day when they aren’t breathing the same air? Just is this soul for me.

June is only 9 months old; her life is full of happiness and her adventurous days with my kids are still ahead of us. Please help us give her a chance to keep fighting for her life.

I understand money is not always in abundance of us all. I’m grateful even for the smallest positive thoughts sent her way. June bug is, too.

(If anyone decides to make a monetary donation, I will show them that their money went directly to my June bug. I will post publicly the invoices and payments for her care. If someone prefers to contact the hospital directly this is perfectly understandable. If she returns home earlier than expected, I will happily return donations. I have been told she will likely need hospitalization for the next 2 to 3 days. Each day is estimated at $2500 for her care.)
