Please help Susie Price with her cancer battle

Hi, everyone. My name is Lisa Warnick and I have been a friend of Susie Price’s for many, many years. Susie is one of the sweetest, most loving people I have ever known. As cliché as it sounds, she would give you the shirt off her back and wouldn’t think twice about it. Suie is always positive and smiling and has a very strong faith. She is not one to complain and has never been one to ask for help, but with her mounting medical bills, she really needs help now, which is why I have set up this fundraising page for her.

In April 2021, Susie was shocked to hear that she had cancerous tumors in her body; the doctor didn’t waste time and she began chemo treatments shortly thereafter. The tumors were significantly reduced by the chemo but it was very, very hard on her body. Her tumors remained stable until recently when she had to begin treatments again. Unfortunately, the new treatments did not work, so she now must undergo the same harsh chemo she had in 2021 to see if they can get the tumors under control again.

As difficult as this cancer has been on her, Susie has had other challenges to deal with recently, as well, which have taken a significant toll on her, emotionally and financially.

Just before her cancer diagnosis, she lost her husband, Rick, to cancer (December 2020). He had been the love of her life for over 40 years and although they knew he was not going to survive his battle, they did not expect him to pass away as soon as he did. She was still reeling from his death when she got her own cancer diagnosis.

Susie and Rick have a 22-year-old son, Eric, who helps his mother as much as he can. However, he was recently in a very bad car accident, through no fault of his own, and was hospitalized and off work for a few months as he recovered from his injuries. He has just now gotten back to work and is trying to get his life back to normal.

Thankfully, Susie has many friends who have helped her with meals and with running errands and she is very touched by the generosity they have shown her. She is also on many prayer lists, which we all appreciate, as we believe in the power of prayer. Susie is extremely grateful for all of the emotional and spiritual support she and Eric have received; it helps to know they are loved and that they are not alone in this fight.

Unfortunately, the financial end of this cancer battle is daunting. There are extremely high medical bills that are not covered by insurance and Susie is on a very limited budget. It is hard for her to ask for financial help, but she is at a point now where she really does not have any other option.

We know that it is a difficult time for many people in today’s economy. However, if you can find it in your heart - and your budget - to donate to Susie’s fundraiser, she would be forever grateful. Every dollar truly does help. Susie is a very strong woman, but I would like to try to relieve a little of the financial pressure for her so she can concentrate on her health and getting the tumors back under control.
