Please help support Tyler and his family.

Hi, My name is Paul and I am a friend and work colleague of Nathan Potterton. I've set up this go fund me in aid of helping this family buy some time with their young boy. Below are some details of what has occurred in the last six months to their son Tyler.

Up until the 27th of October 2022, nine year old Tyler was a vibrant, energetic and comical young boy. The following day his mother Kelly noticed significant changes in her sons character and appearance. After a doctors consultation it was believed that Tyler was suffering from a type of brain infection. On the 4th of November after further tests were conducted Tyler was diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).

ALD involves multiple organs in the body. It most prominently affects the brain and spinal cord. This brain disorder destroys myelin. Myelin is the protective sheath that surrounds the brains neurons. Without the myelin sheath the nerve cells that allow us to think and to control our muscles no longer function correctly.

The family have been caring for Tyler which involves many specialist appointments and therapy sessions over the past four months since his diagnosis. Tyler can now no longer walk, eat ,speak or even nod his head to communicate. This debilitating disorder has no current cure.

This go fund me page has been set up to help this family navigate these difficult times. Nathan, Tyler's father is juggling his work commitments and trips to Perth's Children's Hospital while his wife Kelly keeps a constant vigile.

Please donate as much as you can. This will help alleviate some of the financial pressures on this family.
