The Wolfe family has been through an unimaginable ordeal that has ultimately taken their precious husband and father, Greg, far too soon. After a lengthy battle with DRESS syndrome required Greg to undergo a heart transplant this past spring, he was able to come home just in time to see his oldest daughter graduate from high school.
Serrin, Greg’s wife, is a loving, giving, sensitive woman with a huge heart. She is a special education teacher who left a competitive and lucrative sales career some years ago to follow her dream of becoming an educator. She had hoped to be able to spend more time with Greg and their two daughters while also helping other children who needed extra support to learn. This has meant starting completely over in terms of salary, seniority, etc. after bearing the costs of additional education needed to complete her licensure.
The costs of Greg’s medical care, compounded by the extremely ill-timed loss of his job of almost 30 years, have put the family into a very difficult position. One child has just started college at Kent State, while the other is still in high school. The amount of time Serrin has had to miss from work to care for Greg has been significant, and she now faces having to support her family entirely on her own. Both children have faced medical situations of their own, with one having major surgery while her father’s battle raged on.
Please consider helping provide assistance to this precious family as they grapple with laying Greg to rest and finding their footing from there. It takes a village, and I know how valuable your love and support will be to Serrin, Alexandria, and Evangeline. Thank you.
