On August 27th, after almost 3 years of fighting cancer, Brittney Tavares was taken from this earth and her loved ones far too soon. Brittney was loved by so many and had a heart as big as her glowing smile. Her laugh was absolutely contagious and would brighten up any room that she entered. Brittney was an amazing wife to her high school sweetheart, Ryan, whom she spent a total of 21 years with. If you know anything about them, you know how special their love was and how generous and kind they were to everyone around them. Brittney’s biggest and most important accomplishment in this world was becoming a mother to her beautiful children - Easton (son, 4) and Ryan (daughter, almost 3).

Unfortunately, it was only days after the birth of Ryan that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and her fight began. Brittney courageously shared her cancer journey on social media in hopes to spread awareness against this terrible disease and document the depths of her battle. In doing so, she captivated her entire community including people whom she had never crossed paths with before but were heartbroken over her story. The out pour of support she received from those around her was like nothing this community had ever seen before and truly spoke volumes to the person that she was. Her dedicated husband Ryan, a fisherman, has spent the last few years balancing being a full-time dad while providing care to Brittney at home and staying by her side for all of the many hospital visits. Ultimately, leaving him unable to work or earn an income.

At this time, we’re humbly asking to continue the ongoing support for Brittney’s family while they navigate these uncharted waters.
